Mindset Hacks

You can make a difference in your life and in the life of others. Often it’s all about mindset. Here are 10 tips to help you create your own positive mindset. I always say, if you want to change your life then change your mindset

  1. Only use positive words when talking. If you’re constantly telling yourself “I can’t” you will convince yourself that you can't and you brain will believe you. Replace these negative words with positive ones instead. Tell yourself you will give it your best and each time you will get better with practice

  2. Push out all feelings that aren’t positive. It's easy to let negative thoughts and feelings overwhelm you when you are not feeling great. Even if it’s only for a few hours a day, push your negativity aside and only focus on the good things in your life. Practice gratitude for these things and it will help you appreciate what you have a lot more.

  3. Use words that evoke strength and success. When you catch yourself filling your thoughts that make you feel down try and change your thoughts with words that make you feel strong, happy and in control. Make a real effort to focus on these words rather than those that make you feel like you are falling behind or not good enough.

  4. Practice positive incantations. This exercises is different to positive affirmation. An affirmation means you repeat a positive phrase to yourself on a regular basis like “I deserve to be happy” or “I am worthy of love”. When you do it as an incantation you say it with power and passion and put real emotion behind it.

  5. Direct your thoughts. This technique, used by psychotherapists, can help you to control your thoughts when you start to feel down or anxious. rather than accepting you are feeling anxious take six deep breaths, in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds and then out for 6 seconds and on the six breath completely empty your lungs. Then tell yourself the feeling you are having its one of excitements and you are looking forward to what is happening.

  6. Believe you will succeed and visualise your self being succesfull. This tricks the brain into thinking you have already achieved what you are visualising so when you come to the task you are less nervous as your brain thinks you have done it already.

  7. Think about what went wrong. Thinking positively doesn’t mean denying that there is anything wrong. But learn from your mistakes and they are no longer mistakes but lessons, n body got anywhere in life without doing things wrong a few times.

  8. Praise yourself. Every day list down three things you have down and that you are praying yourself for. We often criticise ourselves for not accomplishing things and overlook all of the great things we do each day. Even just getting up on time each morning should be praised.

  9. Let go of the past. Blaming yourself for things that have gone wrong won’t change them.

  10. Focus on the future and making a positive impact. What you focus on you will attract, so focus on the future you want and not the past that has held you back.
